Join us for a community-powered Saturday hosted by the UIU Bay Area Mentorship Team in collaboration with Igbo Youth Association (IYA)!

Start your morning with a refreshing group hike at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, followed by lunch at Calabash Restaurant in Oakland. Whether you’re a mentor, youth leader, mentee, or friend of the community — this day is about connection, joy, reinvigoration, and Igbo culture.

Who Should Attend?
Open to all

Schedule: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• 9:30 AM – Hike Begins @ Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park (RSVP for exact meeting point)
West Ridge & French Trail Loop (5.3 mi | Moderate | ~2.5 hrs)
• 12:30–1:00 PM – Transition to Lunch
• 1:00–3:30 PM – Lunch @ Calabash Restaurant, Oakland

Meet the Chef: Nigel Jones
Founder of Kingston 11 Cuisine & Calabash, Chef Nigel is a Bronx-raised Jamaican known for soulful dishes and deep community impact. A founding board member of Community Kitchens, his restaurants are hubs of flavor, culture, and connection. We’re honored to partner with him for this experience.
